Johnson’s Antiques, located on the outskirts of Cornwall, went up in flames in the early hours of Wednesday morning. According to South Stormont fire Chief Gilles Crepeau, 30 firefighters with a total of nine trucks responded to the fire at 2:30 a.m. “There is a lot of damage and the roof partially collapsed,” he said. “We managed to get the fire under control at around 7 a.m. But the fire was partially ahead when we got here.” Firefighters from three stations — Long Sault, St. Andrews and Newington — responded to calls for service. The cause of the fire is still unknown. The matter has been forwarded to the Ontario Fire Marshal for investigation.
